This Week’s ‘Riffs & Roads’ List are for Moments of Contemplative Depth

By

The Riverrose – I Want to Stay

The Riverrose is a rock band whose sound forms where the old meets the new, classic dances with the contemporary. Their latest release is ‘I Want to Stay’ in which you can spot some popular influences like the Beatles, Oasis, The Rolling Stones, and The Carpenters. A contemplative rhythm that is layered with soft folk rock sequences, surreal textures, and an anthemic classic rock chorus. It washes over you and slathers the listener in its lifting current. Like tides in the ocean, the riffs keep coming back for more. The varied vocals lend the verses with new textures, moods, and emotions. Best way to go through it is to rise into it and fall with it, become the ocean that it is and float away with it.

Charlie Freeman – Two Witches

Charlie Freeman beguiles with his single, ‘Two Witches’. A post rock song that is fed with moments of high contemplation and classic rock. His vocals are slants of emotion, a plane of its own. And falling from its cradle are floating pieces of cello, soft guitar riffs, and a resonance that opens up a cavernous space. A song about exploration and self discovery, everything is designed to flow, disperse and keep going. The melodies are light, suspended like light in the backdrop. And the vocals seem to be forming out of it, a globe of sensibilities that fall on top of each other like honey stacking on a plate. The riffs and the soft coarseness of the soundscape is sure to transform the atmosphere in the car, take you to far away places and distant feelings.

Michael Cohen – My Evil Twin

Michael Cohen gives us an active, fun, energetic pop rock performance with his latest, ‘My Evil Twin’. A song that is flooded with riffs, ringing chords, and an unending beat line, the soundscape is going to revitalize your spirit. Michael’s vocals are animated, even as the protagonist seeks forgiveness. That light-hearted performance points to the mood of the theme, poking fun at a never ending fight. If you’re looking for a song for your playlist that you want to sing along with, dance and pump your drive with, this song will not disappoint. It’s going to keep you up and uplifted throughout. So you can keep on rock and rolling with the track. Listen Now!
