Seven Nation Army – power and money
Seven Nation Army’s latest release is everything. Titled ‘Power and Money’, the track sets off on a critique of people who build themselves up with it, wielding it unjustly. To be blinded by them to a point where you’ve lost sense of self and have become out of touch. The track is available in three different versions. Each one playing out with new stylistic outfits and featuring new types of rage. The ‘80s Synths version’ takes you back to that colorful retro era known for its synth glam. The ‘Raw Guitars version’ is edgy and coarse with an alternative angst that feels very 90s but also shines with modern features. And the ‘Electro Time’ version forms in between these styles, darkening the atmosphere of tyrant leaders operating right now in the world.
Kamila Csenge – the void
Kamila Csenge is a guitarist and a composer with a fine hand. She delves into the nuance and gives it life with her thoughtful compositions. Her latest release is ‘Behind The Universe’ album, a collection of reflective notes that build into beautiful moments of music. Taken from this set, for this week’s queue is ‘The Void’. A track that details an emptiness with such an artistic hand. With fluid melodies, she forges depth, dimension and feeling into the theme. The technical work is quite profound; for she builds on foundational concepts to bring about a touching experience. Their guitar lines are mellow, almost dalliance with a touch of jazz. ReeToxA – War Killer
ReeToxA is back with another coarse, alt rock single, ‘War Killer’. Previously featured on their SOLILOQUY album, this single is made to awaken the angst and rage that you might have against the tyrant world leaders. The Australian band have infused the track with a strong current, one that beckons all the listeners to its shore, to its revolution. The bass is powerful, dispersing a charged atmosphere. And crawling over that is a riff army. It is such a full soundscape, with so much character. It has an ethos that consumes all. The vocals with its classic rock track, builds into this atmosphere. With the precision, saunter and charisma of a hunter, the vocals glide through the song almost. Everything comes together with a powerful ease.
A Taste of Salt – Safe No More
A Taste of Salt has released their debut single, ‘Safe No More’. A melancholic drawl that sets out a dreary and dystopian landscape. It’s layered with emotion, visuals, and tales. The song is made with an air of solitude, one that disperses into a contemplative quiet. The scene is set, the instrumentals form floatingly, and the emotion trails after. The best way to enjoy this track is to give yourself to this scenery, to the emotion and see what comes out the other side. There is a little bit of an experimental mood to this track, one that makes the song feel alien and otherworldly. Euplasia is an indie artist with a dynamic pulse. He has an incredible way of exploring human experiences with a new freshness. His latest release is ‘Romeo Ohio’, a pop rock track that is crisp, fun and brimming with energy. The soundscape is built with a building beat line, a consistent groove and an electric spirit. The production is sharp and it drives the theme home, every single time.
