BC25 are an alternative duo who bring musical exploration and experiment to the alt folk space. Their latest release is the ‘Unearthed, Pt. 2’ album. The collection weaves moments of funk, jazz, soft pop, and deep theatrics to a light acoustic frame. ‘Second Window’ opens the album showcasing such a vivid and drifting, visually rich sound performance. We see middle-eastern influences. Snaking patterns are a theme that we see manifesting in many ways across. The vocals are a complex blend of melancholy, nostalgia, evocation, and contemplation. A stream of consciousness sort of rhythm to it, as it ebbs and flows with a story that you become drawn to.
Tony Lio – Better to Sleep
Tony Lio’s ‘Better to Sleep’ is a luminous acoustic cavity. It’s not a lullaby, but a delve into melancholy, into heartache. And it flowers tenderly into a haunting romance that feels so human.
