Arctic Wave – Circus
Arctic Wave is an indie rock band that creates immersive rock frames. Especially in their latest release, ‘Circus’, they blend fuzzy, slow riffs scenes with dragging chords and lamentous vocals to set the scene. It’s melancholic and melodramatic, a slow burn theatre that the listener is hypnotised with. You’ll feel the walls of the soundscape forming around you, taking shape as they progressively cultivate the soundscape. Underneath the main scene, a deeper, cerebral plane unravels, a raw underbelly of new emotion that casts the whole thing in a new light. There are a lot of experimental and psychedelic features that drive the listener into an absorbing and overwhelming peak.
George Collins Band – Black and White World
George Collins Band creates a warm, feel-good riff atmosphere with their latest release, ‘Black and White World’. It is retro, classic, and full of that uplifting quality. It is festive, fun, and light. When you dive into it, you come out feeling like a new person. It feels like a fresh day, a clean slate, or a new year. So full of possibilities. That’s at the core of it. To drive the listener out of a duality into color, into a fluid sense of self. There’s no point being the prisoner of this or that, black or white. It’s all about staying present in the joy of life, as it unfolds, in the people that it brings, and everything in between. It’s a classic rock track that will take you back to the 70s; with a rhythm, tempo and temperament that will elevate the next couple of miles you’re going through.
Ono Kimono – Sexy Creep
Ono Kimono is an alt rock artist. He brings a whole lot of modernity to his songs. Think Michael Jackson with moments of 70s/ 80s rock and Daft Punk. His latest release is ‘Sexy Creep’, a playful, fun, sleazy song that makes the whole thing charming. The atmosphere of the song is dark yet fresh, light and dispersing. A lot of new wave electronica, with its experimental textures and rhythms make up the backdrop. Circling through it is a groove line, a glistening synth, and dark whispering vocal line. All these elements have a way of drawing you into the soundscape and keeping you there. It’s an interesting space to explore for a bit. Listen Now!
