Fiona Amaka is one of those artists that give themselves to the music. That inexplicable connection almost lifts off the song and becomes an experience for the listener to witness. In all her music, you feel the infinities that the music and the artist share, a language, a feeling of their own. In her latest release, ‘Honesty (Psalm 139)’, she brings faith into the equation, throwing open a whole horizon of feeling. The soundscape, with its warm acoustics, lofty vocals, and a sense of unconditional surrender, is such an open space. With his latest album, ‘Take the Long Road Home’, Danny Hammons presents scenic soundscapes. He breathes life and details into so many frames. And you can just imagine, visualise and enjoy the beauty and softness that it lends to time. In his song ‘Oceanside’ the artist gives us the expanse of the ocean, the whistles of the wind, and the echoes of perhaps some distant sirens. The feeling of walking along an early morning beach, moody and intimate, cozy almost as it unravels around you. The acoustics are warm and the plucked acoustics are a twinge in the heart. Each time.
