The Party After – Blast off
For this week’s Riffs and Roads list, we start off strong with atmospheric riffs, and hard rock best. The Party After’s ‘Blast Off’. Just as the name suggests, it gets rough and rogue, gaining an energy that is explosive and powerful. With splashing basslines, strong beats, and a vocal line that fractures realities to create more compelling and driving planes. Its texture is coarse and gritty to match the rich flavor of the riffs and together, they make the song, filling it up as we inch closer and closer to the peak. Not only that, but it takes over the cerebral quotients of the mind, gives the body the momentum that you may need to blast off into your day, your adventure, or your travel.
Bradley Adam Band – Elise
With this next track, ‘Elise’ the warmth of the Bradley Adam Band envelopes the listener. It has a blooming, classic rock riff style, detailing the soundscape. The storytelling vocals and narrative lyrics are more dominant here, dispelling the emotion and memories that make up the theme. The melodic guitar connects these frames with an instrumental narrative of its own. Molten, vulnerable, are honestly performed, it seems to give it all to us. With a classic rock formula, the style is kind of retro, taking us back to the early 2000s. The familiarity and nostalgia further adds to the appeal of the track.
James Zero – Forevermore
James Zero’s alternative track, ‘Forevermore’ concludes this week’s list. The love song that explores themes like forever, irrevocability, and passionate, intense romance. Layering the stylistic profiles, textures, and characters of emo, alt pop, dark pop, and rock, the song fills the entire soundscape. The vocals also form as though part of the instrumentals. It has its crackling charm, kind of dark but also dreamy as they absorb the atmosphere into them. And the riffs, a refreshing dispersion within the song, leads the listener into more expansive territories and ranges of feeling. It has both an aesthetic and conceptual purpose as it stretches into forevermore.
