Zarooni is a singer-songwriter and a rock artist with a remarkable evocation. His music is smooth pastures of human emotion and experience. And floating above it is an expansive sky to draw from. That’s how it feels to listen to his music. That sense of space to spread out in and make sense of. His latest release is ‘Once’ which creates an alt rock/ alt pop fusion. Starting with intimate acoustics, he takes it to the next level with riff work and then upgraded to an electric synth musical network; all culminating in an intoxicating high that is both aching and arching, immersing the listener in the concept of once, especially in the context of love. There is so much to the song, so illuminating, vulnerable, and imaginative; all at the same time.
Delta of Venus – Interwined
Imagine a landscape moving in a window. Perhaps you’re in a train, watching the world whir off behind you. That’s how the soundscape in Delta of Venus’s latest release, ‘Interwined’ feels like. With vocals that are soft and pleasantly static, the instrumentals and riffs pass on by consistently, awaiting nothing and nobody.
