The Paper Monsters – River on Omega

Riffs carry a charge, an energy unit. They are solitary but also a cog in the grand rock machine. This spirit can be best experienced with The Paper Monsters’ ‘River on Omega’. When you listen to it, it feels like the band emulates the gushing flow of the river, with all its electric currents and chaotic rhythms. You’ll actually feel the rush, its power, majesty and loft. The riffs are pregnant, inflated with energy that progressively blossom into the wiry basslines that border the soundscape. Best way to experience it is to focus on the textures and tonalities, how they pool into each other, clash and fall away into their worlds again. And with the vocals so ambiguous and abstract, it is otherworldly.

Leeek – Time’s Up

Leeek is an interesting band. Nothing is off limits for them as they blend soul magic and funk with fluid indie rock. Smooth and slippery, the basslines, riffs, and synths pour into each. You’ll see transformative circles each time they do that. And it’s a stimulating constant across the soundscape, forming psychedelic sub tones, colorful patterns, and a charisma that you want to keep being a part of. If you like artists like Tame Impala, then you’ll definitely enjoy Leeek’s idea of a fun time. The hooks, grooves, and the dimensions of their sound is on a whole other plane. And it most definitely will make your journey interesting and imaginative.

Kason Stiff – I’m True

Kason Stiff is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from Dallas, Texas. His music is the perfect conclusion for this week’s list. The creative blend of indie rock with dreamy psychedelia, and moody atmospheres is so fun to immerse in. His latest release is ‘I’m True’, so scrumptious with narrative riffs and descriptive melodies. It’s almost like a scent that is oozing out of the soundscape into your scenery. The song carries such beautiful nocturnal colors and contrasts which soothes and floats. It is quite literally sublime bordering on surreal.
