Check out the many worlds of this week’s cerebral night picks!
Alexander Wren – Internal Jukebox
Alexander Wren’s music is whimsical, queer, and a whole lot of fun. He flies along like the blues plane like a cool cat. It is old school, retro, and so fantastically underrated. Once you plug into his music, it is like entering a room, a house party that is artsy, interesting. With each wall adorned with unique art pieces, wonderful people with fun clothes, talking about philosophy and poetry. His latest release is ‘Internal Jukebox’, a track that will grab you by the collar and give you a kiss. It is that passionate, that compelling, and it’s got quite a groove. If you like music that sings with you, sways with you, and dances with you, then this is the track for you!
The Nied’s Hotel Band – We’re In This Together
This band takes the slow dancing blues and grooves of Alexander Wren and puts a little tempo in it. The Nied’s Hotel Band creates music that impacts, that inspires camaraderie, and that keeps you reaching. Their track, ‘We’re In This Together’ is a masterpiece. Made with fuzzy riffs, bluesy floors, country accordions and a peppy vocal raise, the track is so varied, so full of depth, texture, soul power, and there’s also a little bit of pop in there. A pop of emotion, color, and luminosity.
Tyler Kamen – Third Eye Temple
Tyler Kamen is a guitarist, singer-songwriter, and music producer from New York. For his latest release, ‘Third Eye Temple’, a visually compelling psychedelic indie rock piece. He forges dimension through textural play and progression, expanding the boundaries of the song and the listener. It is interesting because it isn’t psychedelic in the typical warping kind of way. But he develops a cerebral presence, speckling it with acoustics, fuzzy riffs, oceanic bass lulls, all geared towards an elevating listening experience. Growing towards the fantastical, he binds us to the ethereal in the most profound ways.
