Kid Pan Alley – On Our Way to Liberty
Kid Pan Alley have just released their latest album, ‘There’s a Song in Every Story’. Right on track with the title, the track is made with expressive elements. Each instrument, each atmosphere, mood, and vocal collaboration has its own language. ‘On Our Way To Liberty’ opens the album. With Lea Morris on the vocals, it’s a folk rock – blues track. Old school, rustic, with a classic contemporary spin, the track presents like a landscape. The acoustic riffs set a mellow atmosphere, perfect for that quiet, reflection of a coming revolution. The harmonica accents are pervasive, bringing a rawness to the whole experience. It qualifies the composition and makes it feel a little bit more old school and nostalgic. Listen Now!
Tabitha Zu – On Reality
Tabitha Zu’s latest release is ‘On Reality’. Yet another vintage rock scene. It’s bustling, chaotic, and spontaneous with a punk edge. Think The Bangles’s jangle pop blended in with Rain Parade or The Dream Syndicate. That remarkable underground atmosphere is created through repetition and reinforcement. The garage-punk textures are dimensionalized glassy jangles and an overarching psychedelic feel. As you listen, it’s impossible not to feel transported to the 70s/ 80s. However, there are some ideas that do feel modern experimental. Mixed in there with that raw old school production, they seamlessly travel back in time. It is definitely a sound that you haven’t heard before. At least not recently. So edgy, so dynamic and incredibly eclectic.
Veronica Fusaro – Alice
Veronica Fusaro is a singer-songwriter who creates elaborate productions. Her songs are an immersive space, one that is crafted with a bold and cinematic hand. The atmosphere might be minimalistic, but it feels full, because it is cast with unsaid nuance and sensibilities. Like her latest release, ‘Alice’, a track that is a conversation with an alter ego of sorts. It dives into deep and dark themes, exploring loneliness, grief, and an ever present weight. However it’s not done in an obvious way. Veronica’s unique vocal character lifts and spreads into a slow rock opera space. The instrumentals are introduced with an intense and emphatic hand. There’s a boldness to it that nicely elevates the vulnerability of the theme. So much nuance, so much artistic intention. Definitely a track that you will transport you to new spheres of listening.
