Andrew Siddle – The Beginning and the End

Andrew Siddle’s ‘The Beginning and the End’ opens this week’s list. The singer-songwriter and artist has just put out his eleven song album, ‘The Past and Future’, a collection in which he explores such vivid and vibrant moments of life and emotions. With this opening track, he lifts into a feel-good space. Warm riffs, molten chords, affecting vocals and a whirl of neoclassicals, all of it come together to form a space that is expressive, passionate, open, and so full of possibility. As you listen, you’ll feel like you’re transported to a vast space like a meadow. Luminous melodies swirling around you and a nice warm riff line to flow with. That’s the place we want to start this week’s rock queue. It’s sure to transform the energy of your drive. Listen on YouTube!

Between Daze – Burn For You

Between Daze is an alt rock band with a remarkable spirit. It’s made with sharp grooves and lively chords. Their latest release is ‘Burn For You’, a track that is loaded with grand riffs and a burning passion that becomes a mood, an atmosphere that overtakes the listener. This track feels like you’re in a delicious delirium. The rhythm with its catchy riffs breaks and a speeding pace is so dynamic and stimulating to a point of inducing cerebral daze. The vocals are coarse, searing almost as they surf the mercurial and tumulus instrumentals. Despite so much character, the track is light, buoyant, and fun. You’re yearning but also revelling in the drama of the riff, emotion in the vocals and the play in the beats. Imagine a blend of The Who with The Kinks and a more modern twist in the form of Tame Impala. That’s how this song sounds.

NUDNIK – zen silence.

The moody atmosphere is what makes up this week’s list. NUDNIK’s ‘zen silence.’ Exploring despondency, the song arches into a slow burn hyperbole. Moments of contemplation that stand still around the listener, like the ghosts of memories past. And from it, a momentum builds, an instrumental world and mood builds. With elements of classic rock, splashy chords, expressive riffs and powerful basslines, the track gets dynamic. In some parts there is a remarkable stylistic ambiguity, progressing from classic rock, blues to hard rock and alt rock. There is grief, grit and a revolution that makes an immersive odyssey out of a song. It’s quite the powerful track.

Zeeb – Soul Free

Zeeb have just released their latest single, ‘Soul Free’. A track that can be best described as wild wild country. The duo cast existential contemplation in a dynamic, swirling, and psychedelic rock scene. They expand classic rock exponentially, driving it progressively to a transcendental peak. The vocals retain vulnerability and softness, a feel-good state while being surrounded by the swirling, leaping and lifting instrumentals. Both of these elements present an expanse that you can go with, one that feels light, explorative and a whole lot of possibilities. And the more you listen, the more you’ll feel the boundaries blur into a sense of freeness. If you’re looking for a good time with 70s style rock, then this track is for you.
