Ping Machines – From 1 2 Another
Ping Machines start off this week’s list with ‘From 1 2 Another’. It’s a track with powerful riffs, extraordinary basslines and rock power that splits the soundscape in two. There’s so much texture, a lot of tactile output that forges connections and passes it from one to another. An alt rock composition that is led by a strong, bullheaded hard rock and opened up with a punk call. It feels as though all the riffs are absorbed into a centering vortex, an immense grandeur that takes on every corner of your consciousness and keeps splitting it. As you listen, there’s so much infinity, remarkable madness and moments of unstoppable vigor. Listen Now!
JC Cutter – Tequila at Dawn
JC Cutter’s chock full of sun in his latest, ‘Tequila at Dawn’ is the perfect second song for this week. It kicks off the year with larger than life energy, full of an exuberance that opens up the mood and creates an immense atmosphere of possibilities. That sight of the sun breaking out of the horizon, the brilliance of it all, the colors, the energy, and the expanse. It’s what this song calls to mind. With strong riffs, memorable chord breaks and a vocal brilliance that is reminiscent of the raw, muscular swagger of Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger. Such a remarkable energy lifter with a way of transforming your spirit.
Books of Mood – Fashion Romance
Books of Mood’s ‘Fashion Romance’ is artful indie rock, plush with folk and storytelling influences. The song is so fresh and buoyant with soft melodic frames, whimsical themes, and some retro touches. It feels very Beatlesque with a touch of David Bowie and Queen. With vocals so refreshing and varied with splashes of expressive melodies, and lyrical rhythms, it’s a really buoyant track. It’s layered without weighing you down. There’s so much craft and nuance. The vocals are especially varied, with so many energies, and vibes. Matched with a multi-faceted instrumental sphere, the composition really comes along quite well.
