This Week’s Folk List Presents Scenic Acoustic Frames

By

Muletonic – on the beach

Muletonic’s ‘on the beach’ has a momentous style. The song sets a beach frame. With recurring acoustic motifs, the artist sets the mundanity of the scene, of the unchanging background. Progressing into it, with descriptive lyrics and poetic vocals, the nuances come into being. Of a woman, of the water, of the sky, and of life itself. It has such contemplative tones, luminous sparks, and a dazing clarity. It is artful, forming like a collage in a scrap book, like a memory coming together piece by piece in the mind, like a thought forming, an idea opening up, or a scene growing in depth and detail.

Jagas – Les livres de Marion

Jagas is known for their French pop. In their latest track, ‘Les livres de Marion’ they deliver a classical pop ballad. Thoughtful vocals, romantic, expressive and full of imagery lift into the mellow theatrics of the instrumentals. The scenes, the emotions and the stories swirl in front of your eyes. Like a Van Gogh painting, the strokes of the song are vivid and gently vibrant. They seem to activate, they have so much life in them. Even if you don’t understand the French language, the song will translate in your mind, its essence is so ostensible that they will imprint on you. So come watch a French movie. It’s definitely going to be worth your while.

Luke Baird Music – Dream

Luke Baird Music creates a daydream for us in their latest release, ‘Dream’. The song is sparked with acoustics; melodies walking through the soundtrack, melting into the vocals and its sentiments. We’re at the brink of a new year, on the brink of dreams and possibilities. It’s the perfect song to blur the horizons of your dreams, to showcase the limitlessness of what you can achieve, of the things that you can work up to. The song is not an anthemic motivator; but more of a friendly reminder. A song that believes for you in ways that matter, the comfort and soothe in moments of self-doubt. It’s quite a special track.
