This Week’s ‘Spring Folklore’ is an Acoustic Paradise

By

NT Fitch – E Minor Baby

NT Fitch delivers ‘E Minor Baby’ with an acoustic grace. The strings play out like a river, ever flowing. And alongside this, Fitch’s vocals have an explorative and expressive feel. He lets his voice be an honest and authentic extension of his heart. It has an old American style, world weary perspective forged with wisdom and a retrospective depth. So rustic and raw. If you like the work of Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and the like, you’re sure to like this artist. There is also a sense of modernity with that classic mixed into it. The blues come out and the daze forms. It fills the room and the layers that your left with in the aftermath is definitely something you’re going to love.

Guild Theory – The Statesman

Guild Theory’s ‘The Statesman’ is an alt folk rock composition. With acoustics at the base, the composition is built up with dreamy elements, dazing tones, and a voice that instantly transports you to another world. If Tame Impala were to collaborate with Sufjan Stevens, their collaboration would probably sound like this. The boundaries of style, emotion, expression, and genre are so fluid. Within human frames, they are able to open up fantastical portals. In the midst of minimalistic acoustics, a whirlpool of complex rock forms. It has a wayward and mercurial way about it that it even takes you back to Pink Floyd. Listen Now!

AmurRayz – This Time of Year

AmurRayz and Paul Millard conclude this week’s list with a festive single, ‘This Time of Year’. An immediate seasonal favorite with its Christmas imagery, Christmas sentiments and a heartwarming vocal performance. Violins swing through, with such jolly and cheer, the artists bring emotion and energy to our holiday. It’s not forced, doesn’t have that formulaic, commercial feel to it. Instead, they just transfer their authentic experiences of the holiday, with family and friends into the song. And it strikes a chord. The perfect measure of nostalgia, gratitude, love, joy, contemplation, and music. So precious and fresh.
