Max Goedecke – Tinkerbell
Max Goedecke finds and features the pieces of freedom and expanse that he has collected over his lifetime. The artist has an immersive way of depicting his ideas, blending them with acoustics and acoustic rock. His latest release is the ‘Broke but Happy’ album, a collection that depicts his style and fresh folk rock palette. Taken from it is ‘Tinkerbell’, a song with sunset melodies and narrative vocals. He has a distinctive singing rhythm, one that blends talking expressively with singing barely. And it is sometimes reminiscent of Bob Dylan’s folk rock style and other times of The Beatles. It has that bare-boned 70s feel with moments of contemporary and modern features. The best way to enjoy the song is with pink skies in front of you, a drink in hand and eyes swirling with memories and romance.
Amelina – Step by Step
Amelina lifts the energy in the list with her latest, ‘Step by Step’, an uplifting pop rock song that is meant to renew the strength that you bring to your life, your thoughts, and your emotions. The song is meant to empower your journey to find that inner strength and also comforts you when you think you’re falling behind. The riffs are bold and the beats are loud. Her vocals are youthful and confident, full of that boosting power that also takes up the soundscape. It’s a great way to start your day or to spend a mile. Every element of the song is set up to leap upward, to keep rising and become bigger. So much so that by the end, the step by step moments become a vast expanse of a feeling.
John Fishnell – Night in Lenasia
John Fishnell and Deepak Ram create an indo western fusion. Flute meets the soulful tendrils of rock and neoclassicals. That’s what their latest album, ‘Notorious Partners in Crime’ is about. A concept collection that explores the extended alternative in ways that will delight you. Taken from this album for this week’s list is ‘I Believe in You’. While John Fishnell creates a deep rock space with riffs, beats, and basslines spreading into it like roots, Deepak Ram soothes and conditions the sound with his playful flute playing.
