This Week’s ‘Riffs & Roads’ brings Colour & Gradients

By

Featuring artists like Flavor Wave, Natzel, and LED, this week’s queue is all about chromatic work, textural explorations and the fuzzy gradient they form together.

Flavor Wave – Sad Songs on the Radio

When you think modern alt rock, think Flavor Wave. Because this band has such new and fresh takes on the genre, interpreting it with spontaneity, edge, and exhibition. Their latest release is ‘Sad Songs on the Radio’. The riffs form vibrant frames detailing the soundscape with abstract structures. Its soft drift pairs spectacularly with the surreal dream of the vocals. The falsettos bring an electric color to the sound, a chromatism that is inserted and executed so well. A perfect addition to our Riffs & Roads playlist this week. It is enrapturing, trance inducing and beautifully transient for an alt rock song.

Natzel – Let it Go

Natzel’s hard rock is edgy, driving, and sensational. It’s as if the band is in a mood and they wield it into the atmosphere; raw and rowdy. Their latest release is ‘Let It Go’, a track that is made with a charismatic abandon. It is nonchalant, yet passionate, dynamic yet deep, tortured yet free. The band unleashes their energy. It is mercurial, unpredictable and volatile. The bassline leads the way with its spectacular flashes of character; the rhythm helping to lead up to it. That grandeur of the song is held and further elevated by the vocal presentations. An explosion of riffs and a fantastic atmosphere of alt rock investigation. That’s Natzel for you. Listen Now!

LED – Lies All Lies

Los Angeles based indie rock group, LED have just released their debut single, ‘Lies All Lies’. Comprising of self made teen artist, Edie Yvonne alongside Layne Olivia, and Lockett, they flood the song with a youthful color. The vocals are sweet and confessional. Edie’s and Layne’s vocals are a delightful high, touching upon moments of vulnerability. With a latent undercurrent of emo-punk and hard rock; the fusion will take you back to the Y2K era. The song brings a singalong energy to our Riffs & Roads playlist. So if you’re going through heartache and are caught up in the thick of it, you should probably take a drive and let this track fill the atmosphere in your car.
